Synopsis

On October 1, 2021, the first collaboration agreement was signed between the University of Malaga and the Arrabal AID Association for the development of a "Socio-educational research project related to Second Chance Schools in the province of Malaga." This research highlighted the need to raise awareness and continue working to promote these types of programs for young people who have dropped out of the formal education system.

To continue this line of work and understand the development of these programs across the country, the second agreement was signed, incorporating the Civic Association for Prevention (ACP), specifically on February 13, 2023, and with a duration until January 31, 2025.

This research therefore continues the line of work initiated in 2021, with the ultimate objective of studying the socio-educational aspects of Second Chance Schools across the country. This new agreement expands the analytical framework to the state level, setting out the objectives of analyzing Second Chance School Models and comparing the results with the previous study. It also aims to analyze the profile of users, as well as their motivations and expectations.
